A lot of you have sent me messages about keeping in touch from the road. I'm sorry to have been late in responding, but amidst two shows, two other jobs, the postlude of a wedding shower and the preludes to bachelorette - , bachelor - and the *wedding,* it's been nice to take some time out and reflect on some fantastic moments of inspiration, sanity, and clarity throughout the week.
1. Lainey! I was home for a *quick* visit this past week for a job interview, and was lucky to have received a 24-hour release from Syracuse Opera (thank you!) in order to accomodate the interview request. I will hear about the results next week. In the meantime, since driving to the interview took me directly past my sister's house, I was able to meet my beautiful new niece, born on September 15. Welcome, Lainey! We love you!
2. Nanny. My mom's mom is the epitome of grace, constancy, family, and love. I wouldn't be getting through this wedding preparation without her.
3. Sleep. I downloaded an app for my iPhone about two weeks ago. It measures how well you sleep, and how active you are (how much exercise, etc). It also wakes you up naturally according to your sleep cycle. I highly recommend it! Doubles as a pedometer and heart-pulse taker.
4. Pumpkin Spice Latte from Cafe Kubal. They make the spice in-house. It is so good. I only allow myself to have one if I have an hour to savor it.
5. Fall foliage. The leaves around here are so incredible! They change almost daily, and since I'm routinely doing the same drives (I-90, down to Ithaca, around Syracuse), I notice new colors regularly. Red is my absolute favorite.
